Jennifer Heyward

Jenn Heyward grew up in Virginia, but traveled down to North Carolina to complete her undergraduate career at UNC-Chapel Hill. She stayed in NC until her graduation from veterinary school at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine in May. This June she made the trek to Madison for a small animal rotating internship at the UW School of Veterinary Medicine and joined our lab with hopes to enter into an ophthalmology residency program after completion of her internship. Jenn joined the Mowat lab in fall of 2021 to pursue a Masters in the Comparative Biomedical Sciences program, in combination with her comparative ophthalmology residency at the UW-Madison Veterinary Hospital. Jenn’s hobbies include running with her dog, Finnigan, baking decorative cakes, and slowly learning to knit and crochet.
