Freya Mowat

Freya Mowat grew up in the United Kingdom, and studied Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bristol, and obtained her PhD in Molecular Genetics from University College London (Institute of Ophthalmology). She completed a Comparative Ophthalmology residency and post-doctoral fellowship in canine hereditary eye diseases at Michigan State University. She joined the faculty at UW-Madison in 2020. She is a board-certified Veterinary Ophthalmology specialist with both the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. In her spare time, she enjoys running, and tiring out herself and her dog Tavish doing dog sports and hiking the beautiful trails of Wisconsin.
